Cub Scout Pack 3143 is sponsored by Johns Creek
United Methodist Church. We are part of the Milton
district of the Boy Scouts of America, which is part of the
Atlanta Area Council. We recruit many scouts from Findley Oaks Elementary, but we have quite
a few boys from other schools who have chosen to join our pack due to the close relationship with the
church or other connections with friends in the pack. We have boys from all over the greater Johns
Creek area and from Fulton, Forsyth and Gwinnett counties.
We meet the third Tuesday of each month for Pack Meetings, where all the scouts come together,
and each den (a group of 5 to 10 boys) will meet once a month, at a neighborhood clubhouse or a
scout's home. When your son joins, he'll be assigned to a den. The den leader will work with the
parents to coordinate a good meeting time for the den.
We have an active schedule, which will allow you and your son to participate as your schedule
allows. We go camping in the fall and spring, as well as a hike in the fall and spring. In the
winter, we take a big trip. Some of these trips included the Huntsville Space Center, Charleston S.C.
to stay on the USS Yorktown aircraft carrier, camping out in a cave in Tennessee, and the Fort
Discovery National Science Center in Augusta. Of course we also have the great Pinewood Derby event
each January which is a lot of fun for everyone!
Another wonderful aspect of our pack is that we are very family-centered. Dads, moms and siblings
are invited to participate in the majority of our events which encourages great family time and the
making of family memories.
The kids love the activities and it's such an opportunity to help them on the road to becoming
responsible adults (long way off I know). It also gives them the opportunity to learn real life
things which they may not have the chance to experience through school and sports.
Scouting is a fun and rewarding experience for all involved. Please
